Is Eventopia really free?
There is no subscription and no setup fee. You pay a platform fee of €0.25 per ticket only from ticket 101 of each event, and a commission on bar revenue. On paid tickets the payment provider's transaction cost (about Bancontact €0.39 per payment) is passed through at cost — you choose whether your buyers pay it or you do. Free tickets cost nothing.
What if my event has fewer than 100 tickets?
Then you pay no platform fee for ticketing. On paid tickets only the payment provider's transaction cost applies, and you can let your buyers pay it. You still have access to all features — analytics, scanning, team management, everything.
How does the bar commission work?
We charge a percentage of your bar revenue per event, in steps: 5% on the first €25,000, 4% on the part from €25,000 to €50,000, and 3% on everything above €50,000. Example: €60,000 of bar revenue → €2,550 excl. VAT. Tips and service charges are not included.
Are there hidden costs?
No. No setup fees, no monthly subscriptions, no contracts. The platform fee, the bar commission and the payment provider's transaction cost described on this page are all there is. You can stop at any time.
What does a payment cost?
Every online payment costs a transaction fee at the payment provider (Mollie, or Stripe when it is used) — about Bancontact €0.39 per payment for European cards. We pass that cost through at cost and add nothing to it. You decide per organisation whether the buyer pays it on top of the ticket price or whether you absorb it from your payout.
Are these prices excluding VAT?
Yes. The platform fee, the processing fee and the bar commission are excl. VAT. Eventopia (Laraben BV, Belgium) adds 21% Belgian VAT and withholds it together with the fee — when your buyers pay the fees, they pay it on top of the ticket price. Is your organisation a business in another EU country with a valid VAT number? Then reverse charge applies and we charge no VAT. You receive an invoice per event.
What payment methods do you accept?
We accept all major credit and debit cards, iDEAL, Bancontact, and other popular European payment methods — processed securely via our payment provider Mollie (or Stripe, when it is used).
